Having moved here from NYC, I wasn't expecting much in the quality-restaurant-dining experience-category, but Michael's is definitely one of the best restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of dining in. They are famous for their ""meat and potatoes"" menu (the Filet al Forno and Cowboy Steak are incredible), but at the same time, the nightly specials are wonderfully crafted from the fresh catches of the day from the Florida Keys waters. (Look for hogfish snapper or black grouper in season ... !) They have the best staff and the most relaxed, comfortable and classy atmosphere around. And the best part is it's not on busy Duval Street - you have to really work to find it the first time! Treat yourself to a great martini (served with a sidecar on ice). The Chocolate Volcano dessert they're famous for, but also the nightly selection of Creme Brulee is fantastic, too. Pros: Great food, Great staff, Great atmosphere Cons: Non-Duval St (a plus)
