PROS: Friendly wait staff, typical (i.e. burgers, fries, etc. etc.) but decent ""bar food"", good live music. CONS:(Rude sound man) Granted the band that night, wasn't your ""A-1, national-level showband. There were some ""tenative"" intros "", ""iffy"" spots, and they were too loud at times. They had good energy, tune choices, and the rhythm section grooved pretty, even though they weren't that ""tight"". Overall, they weren't bad. They were GOOD ENOUGH for me and 3 other people to stick around for nearly 3 hours, and spend over $100! I'm also a guitarist and man of 33 years. I've met PLENTY of mean, RUDE people. Perhaps he had an X-bad day, but the soundman at this venue Stu?? or Stew??, is near, or at the top of the list! Near the end of the night, I saw someone from the band approached the soundman on a break. I didn't hear what they said, but that person didn't appear hostile, thus I dismissed it. What got my attention, from halfway accross the room, was when I heard the sound man YELL something to the effect of--""YOU GUYS ARE a JOKE, I don't know you're even booked in here. You're so unprofessional..bla bla bla"" and on and on he RAILED at that person with this venom laden rant! I don't know what caused such a VILE reaction, but from an out-sider's perspective, it appeared to be TOTALLY OUT of line. BTW, ""Mr. ""sound man"", it also indicates that you are in NO POSITION call someone else ""UNPROFESSIONAL"", 1) FYI- COMMON COURTESY is a CRUCIAL element of PROFESSIONALISM! you best cultivate SOME! 2) Perhaps you're competent in your craft, but it's not something one does ONLY when it's convenient, and/or ONLY if the band is ""worthy"" of your ""expertise"". For those who aren't ""worthy"", it's ""WHO cares about the feedback (that ""oh so obvious droning hum) from the kick drum mic, and the serious LACK of ""low end EQ"" in the mix out front. Instead, they get your other version of ""professionalism"", which consists mainly of you ranting to ANYONE who'll listen, about how much you HATE the band, and everyone in it, 3) Haters like YOU, are one of the TOP reasons why mom's and dad's everywhere urge their children to avoid the entertainment industry like the PLAGUE! Equally as important is, your MOROSE, self-loathing persona requires an extreme expenditure of emotional/mental energy just to keep from being ""sucked into that same abyss of negativity. Not only do people like you DRAIN my batteries, you can take the JOY out of something which is SUPPOSED to be FUN, FOR ALL! Life is short, money is tight for most people, and most of us have PLENTY of stress in our everyday lives, people like you tend to make it that much harder for others, often, without reason--or just because you think ""you can"". Just know, that the ""night has 1,000 eyes"" and you never know which will be on YOU!
