Review content:
My boyfriend and I stopped into Palomino on a Thursday night based on a recommendation from several friends who work downtown and wouldn't stop talking about the amazing selection of half-priced appetizers and drink specials during happy hour. We tried a huckleberry mojito and, honestly, the best mussels in town. They were roasted in the brick oven in the bar with a sauce that was rich, spicy and full of citrus with pieces of fresh rosemary. We decided to switch gears and give their cheese fondue a try - we're glad we did. The cheese was smooth and elegant topped with chopped pistachios accompanied by a warm homemade cracker bread, sliced pear and apple and a thin pear honey. At this point, we were full and weren't hungry enough to try dinner. Long story short, we had a fabulous time. The service was surprisingly relaxed, energetic and knowledgeable. We were anxious to go back so we already made a reservation for our anniversary in August.
