It is amazing to see how this 136 year old church still rediates in beauty. It is one of the rare White steepled churches left in california. Built in 1876, it still stands and is showing no signs of going away soon. The people that worship there has done and is doing a great job taking care of it. Anyone who walks in for the first time cannot help but admire its beautiful and original red wood finish. Behind the pulpit is a lighted cross made of red wood that is about 100 years old. The pew are one of its kind. Made somewhere in south amarica and transported around cape horn, it was installed and remains one of the original and permanent features in the church. For those of you who might be looking for a traditional service with the singing of hymns and a down to earth gospel message, the first service at this church might suit you. But for those who think this is old school and are more desirous of a more contemporary service, you might be in for a big surprise if you hung around 10 minutes after the traditional service. The lights begin to flash with different colors across the room, the sound begins to rise and the energy of young adults and teenagers begins to mount and this one hundred year old church is literally transformed into a young and vibrant center. On your way out, you might leave with a smoothie or be invited to join one of the many groups that go out for lunch. Check it out you will really enjoy you stay!
