This is a great little business I found this year. It's a local farm in Waimanalo (the address above is the office address, I think) that grows organic produce. This company is a CSA, or Community Supported Agriculture, which is a subscription farming program where farmers sell their produce directly to you. As a subscriber, you receive fresh portions of their crop, below retail. From their website: The produce in the "Makahiki boxes" varies each week depending on what's currently growing at the farms. You can sign up to pick up boxes at delivery locations, weekly or every other week, you can arrange for a customized order, or you can pick and choose items from an extensive list. I get mine every other week (we only have 2 adults in our household) and I love this service! I pick it up at Na Mea at Ward, which is so convenient. I feel like we're eating healthier (I had never tried kale, swiss chard or collard greens before this and they are SOOOO good sauteed in a little butter and a lot of garlic, with salt and pepper and it's so fast and easy!) and supporting local business too. It's awesome!
