Review content:
The Cookson Smoke House was a great place to eat - - - - UNTIL it changed hands. The service is TERRIBLE ? I don?t know about the food since after a 1.5 hour wait we left without getting anything to eat. We even made reservations. After waiting for 1 hour without getting even the dinner salads and no refills on the drinks, I went to ask what the hold up was. I was told that they had to wait on all of the small groups (who came in after us) before they could get to us. Go figure. We left. Later in the evening, I called the manager (who is the owner?s mother), to voice our complaint that we were there for 1.5 hours, had not been served the dinner salad?s that came with our meal, and not been served any drink refills and was told that we had been given refills 3 times and our food was being brought out to us when we left; the manager then stated that she knew this because there were drinks on the table and she was coming in while we were leaving, then immediately stated, ?I?m not lying.? Since I was getting no where with her I asked to speak to the owner and was told that she was not there. I called the next morning to speak with Janet Richardson, the owner, and was told that she was unable to come to the phone so I left my number to have her return my call. I called today (8/21/07) because Ms. Richardson did not return my call yesterday. She stated that she had heard my complaint 4 times, (where and from whom she heard my complaint from is beyond me, since she had not ever talked to me), and didn?t need nor want to hear it again and was told not to harass her again. We were never offered an explanation, apology, or anything.
Pros: I don't know any pros - large group - made reservations - never got the food
Cons: TERRIBLE SERVICE - never got refills - dinner salads - or any food - left after 1.5 hrs of waiting.
