I FIRST CAME IN CONTACT WITH DR MERKLE IN 1996 WHEN I MOVED TO REDDING FROM OREGON. A FRIEND REFERRED HIM TO ME, ALTHOUGH THE LOCATION OF HIS OFFICE WAS OFF THE BEATEN PATH. I VALUED MY FRIENDS OPINION AND DROVE OUT TO THE COUNTRY TO SEE HIM. THE REASON FOR THE VISIT TO UPDATE MY DOGS VACCINATIONS AND A GENERAL HEALTH CHECK UP. THE TOTAL BILL FOR SHOTS AND THE CHECK UP WAS AROUND $50.00. WHEN IT WAS TIME TO SPAY HER HIS FEE WAS OVER 1/3 LESS THAN ANY OTHER CLINIC, HE DOES NOT BELEIVE IN KEEPING YOUR ANIMAL ANY LONGER THAN NECESSARY, YOUR PET RECOVERS FASTER AT HOME. DR MERKLE ALSO DOES NOT OVER MEDICATE, HE EXPLAINS ISSUES IN A WAY YOU CAN UNDERSTAND. I HAVE SINCE MOVED TO THE NORTHCOAST APROX. 160 MILES FROM HIS OFFICE, HOWEVER IF THE NEED ARISES I MAKE THE TRIP.
