Review content:
The Mark Woolley gallery is a phenomenon. Mark keeps up a regular introduction to what's happening in the local and regional art world, which is a lot. Nothing predictable here, no soft landscapes or trite themes. Just the most creative, vibrant art that can be found, and plenty of it. With his new Wonder Ballroom gallery on the east side, Mark has even more scope for his imagination. His openings and first Thursdays are a great place to meet cool people. Mark Woolley Gallery is a scene not to be missed. Did you ever stop to think about how people start galleries? Mark didn't start with a fortune. He worked a couple of jobs while he got this baby started 15 years ago, funded on pure creativity, imagination and dedication. And look at it now! A Portland landmark for the beyond hip, a cultural treasure.
Pros: fun, out-there art, affordable
