I am in RVC New York for the summer and desperately needed a haircut. I asked my friends for recommendations because I know hair places can be heit or miss and I wanted to avoid a miss if possible. My friend Heather who has gorgeous hair recommended Bellissima and particularly Dmitri. I didn't want to spend a crazy amount for a haircut but I am a city girl so I know that haircuts are expensive. But anyway, I called and made an appointment with Dmitri and I am soooo glad that I did. I love my hair!
So I went in with my decrepid hair and told Dmitri that my bangs were a failure and not at all what I wanted and asked him to fix them. So he told me that the issue is that not enough of my hair was bangs and that if I trusted him he could fix them and give my hair some cool angles. It is so great! He made my hair asymetrical which I have to get used to but I think looks really awesome. The best part is just how perfect my bangs are now. I kept getting my haircut and hoping the hairdresser would improve on my bangs but I couldn't put into words what was wrong with them. Now I love them and totally see the issue. I posted a pictures of my hair to the pictures of Bellissima Hair Salon so you can see what it looks like (I am no creative writer...).
It's a little weird to have to put on a robe and that they want you to take off your shirt (at least I got that impression but no one really explained it to me). They put a drape over you so it's not that the robe is supposed to act as that cover...it just confused me. The hair washing is also a bit weird because they massage your head for a while and it seems pointless.
Dmitri cut my hair only with a razor and ceasers he took his sweet time. He built in so many little angles and then dried it and cut it some more. It is exactly what I wanted...at least I think it is. Either way, Dmitri is meticulous, nice, and good at his art.
