The Apple store couldn't get my hard drive to mount & said they could not recover my data. I called Drive Savers in Novato who charge $300 for the attempt even if they recover nothing and estimated a two week turnaround & around $2000 if they were successful. I was about to head for Novato, when a friend who works at Whole Foods Corporate Offices in Emeryville told me about Tam at Mac Advantage Macintosh Computer Repair & Data Recovery shop. I called, reached a live, encouraging person on the phone & drove straight there. There was no charge for the attempt. (No Data, no charge!) But, what's far better is, they recovered ALL my data: graphics files, photos & music -everything on my hard drive in less than three days and for nearly 75% less than I'd been quoted by the Novato shop! Three Days vs Two Weeks at a fraction of the cost! They also set me up with an automated back up system & online backup, so I'll never lose data again. A wonderful resource. I am indebted to my friend at Whole Foods for saving me a lot of grief & cash, and for introducing me to the very kind & very talented crew at Mac Advantage.
