Review content:
I was in treatment at Parkside on May 31, 2009 until June 19th 2009. I went there kicking and screaming because I was NOT a drug addicted or an ahcoholic.. I had been hospitalized three other times. They didn't get it. Parkside did. The first person we spoke to was a wonderful, wonderful lady, Ann. I told her I thought I had a problem and she said I had just taken the first step in getting well. The compassion with everyone there, the Nurses, TA'S the full staff, my wonderful, counselor, NEAL, with his quiet personality was able to get everything out of me. I never once asked when can I go home, because I felt when they thought I was well enough to leave the hospital they would tell me. That is how I did my treatment at Parkside. I did what they told me. I did what they ask of me. I loved Brad, I loved his lectures. The seats are a little hard on your butt, however, we were not there for our comfort, we were there to get well. I went to Neil Kenny Recovery Center, in Dublin for my assessment because I live in that area and they felt that I needed partial hospital, I met a wonderful counselor by the name of Donn Ross, and I successfully went thru partial, then IOP and aftercare. So from May 31st thru Oct. 26, 2009 I was able to get the tools and learn how to cope with life on life's terms for the rest of my life. I still go to aftercare every Fri. so I can receive everything that is available to me in my new life style. I also attend at least 6-8 meetings a week. I have a sponsor, who has a sponsor who has a sponsor. I am so grateful for this treatment and AA and NA. Wow, what a new beginning for me and my family. Thanks to everyone that has helped me!!!!! Kay Cotterman
