REALTORS AND BUYERS BEWARE!!! My husband and I went in to escrow with West Coast Escrow on a home we planned to purchase early last December. After the inspection on the property, we decided to cancel the purchase due to structural issues with the home. This was 14 days after we went in to escrow. Now West Coast Escrow is refusing to return our money claiming that we owe them a $500 cancelation fee, which by the way, is nowhere to be found in the agreement we signed. They say they charge a similar fee to all buyers who cancel escrow with them. This is NOT a standard practice for escrow companies. So buyers and realtors if you don't want to end up with ridiculous fees if things don't work out, then I suggest you go with another escrow company. ?
