I had been fighting with my lack of hairstyle for roughly a year when I decided to contact Rene for some help. I was wearing my hair longer and literally slicked back. Guy's haircuts tend to be quick and easy, and I have been to salons as well as strip mall cutteries. Sitting down with Rene was refreshing, as she took time to explain how my ""style"" made my face appear thin, and suggested styles that were more modern and that would fit the shape of my head and face better. She spent more time checking the shape of my head and asking about my hair than most ""quick cut"" places spend total! While this made me feel like she knew what she was doing, her cutting style highlighted her experience. As she cut, Rene used a variety of shears. She was confident in her selection, reaching for specific shears as needed. Additionally, she used a firm grip on my hair-something I have found among experienced, confident stylists. Rene continued to check how my hair dried, if it curled, the lenght, etc. while she cut, all the time explaining how certain cuts were going to effect my final style. After she removed three inches of hair and added much needed texture and style, Rene explained how different product could help me achieve different looks. She had suggestions for styles that looked good on me, and helped me style the new cut. I left with a great cut that fit my needs, and a refreshing, updated look. Rene is enjoyable to sit and speak with, and her cutting style and her knowledge of stying show that cutting hair is more her craft than her job.
