Review content:
This used to be a favorite for lunch and bar food. A recent dinner, though, was terribly disappointing--the food was so greasy it made us sick! We started with the calamari, which I had ordered a few times at the bar and used to be crispy, dry, light and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. For some reason I can't fathom, though, they dressed the calamari with MELTED BUTTER. I don't understand why you need to butter up food that is already fried. The calamari were nauseatingly oily, buttery and greasy. Fish and chips were a little better--the fries were surprisingly good. The fish was fried in excessively hot oil, resulting in a very dark batter (almost overfried) drenched in grease. Chicken Florentine was also on the overly rich side. Wine choices by the glass were mediocre--the list is basically a pop chart full of Pinot Grigios, Chardonnays and Merlots. We had a white and a red that were both way too sweet and cloying.
Pros: Stunning building, cozy atmosphere
Cons: Overpriced, greasy food
