Review content:
This rating is limited to the bakery side of the business. The pastries are as good as any I've had in NY, Paris, or Hong Kong. The cake is what cake should be. A perfect crumb, a refreshing, balanced sweetness, and right on target with moisture. The cake is also a wonderful foil for delicate frostings and fresh fruit. The breads I've tasted are flavorful with great texture, crispy crusts, and extraordinary toastablility. Cookies were also superior. If I had one negative comment it would be their limited selection (compared to the NY bakeries of my youth) however I'd much rather see a few things done well than a slew of average offerings.
Pros: world class baked offerings
Cons: the sandwiches are not in the same league as their baked goods
