Businiess name:  Presidio Winery Tasting Room
Review by:  citysearch c.
Review content:
Facing Solvang's main drag (route 246), the Presidio Winery tasting room is a must stop if you're in town and want to taste locally made Santa Barbara County wines. The winery opened in 1991 and Presido's owner and winemaker Douglas Braum now grows most of his grapes following organic and biodynamic principles. At the tasting room there's an ongoing video presentation on the subject and more than 10 current wine releases to sample. Standouts included the estate grown Pinot Gris, the estate Chardonnay and a rare port made the Old World Way from Portuguese varietals. Pros: A friendly showcase for Presidio's estate bottled wines Cons: Tasting room closes at 6 p.m. daily
