Review content:
Boston/Cambridge really does need more quality vegetarian restaurants exactly like Red Lentil. My bf and I came here on Friday night.
Food: It was awesome. We ordered the Peanut Noodle Salad, the Mexican Pizza, and the Butternut Squash Polenta. The salad was nice, although the noodles were a tad underseasoned and some more sauce would have been nice. The pizza was fantastic. I don't usually order pizzas from places that don't specialize in pizza, but I saw this on another person's table and it looked really good. Excellent crust, tasty combo of mozzarella and white cheese, with mango, beans and corn. The polenta was good. It came in an excellent sauce and surrounded by stewed oyster mushrooms. I liked the mushrooms more than I expected, but some were a tad chewy and should have been chopped smaller. Also, where was the butternut squash? This confused me. Oh well.
Space: The decor is nice. I love the bold green color on the walls and the space is open is airy, not cramped. Unfortunately though, it is a small space, and there is definitely demand for more seating, especially on a Friday night. We got there around 6:30 and waited only five minutes. But by the time we were finishing up there was a crowd waiting for tables.
Staff: The hostess was very friendly and seemed to be working very hard to make sure everyone was seated as quickly and efficiently as possible. Unfortunately, the waitress made a mistake with the credit card machine and ended up putting charging the wrong bill to our card. This resulted in us waiting an extra ten minutes to get the credit card back. Everything up until this was great. All in all, it wasn't a huge deal, and I definitely want to go back and try more of their dishes.
Pros: Pizza, all the entrees
Cons: Still working out some kinks. Service a tad slow.
