Review content:
This is THE teaching institute in Los Angeles for Iyengar yoga. As such the focus is less on the product of yoga and more on the practice of yoga, adapted to the individual needs of every practitioner, from young to old, healthy to infirm.
Iyengar yoga is reknowned for its extensively documented therapeutic benefits as well as the global physical and psychological benefits of regular yoga practice. If you've read a medical study about the benefits of yoga, odds are good that this is the style of yoga which was studied and proven effective.
Iyengar yoga focuses intensely on the alignment of the body in order to bring the body (and thus the mind) into balance. It is a rigorous and rewarding discipline taught with humor and compassion at this studio, which has relocated to La Cienega Plaza at 18th Street and La Cienega in 2009 from its previous location on West 3rd Street. See the website for more details.
Pros: Many of the best Iyengar teachers in town! Props!
Cons: Less yoga lifestyle products, more yoga
