I had gastric by-pass surgery 12/06 and have lost over 150 lbs and am still working my way to my target weight of 180. I am a diabetic & was getting infections under the ?extra/excess? abdominal skin ? it was suggested that I have a panniculectomy to remove that extra skin. My GP Doctor, Surgeon & many friends suggested that I see Dr. Tijunelis. He & his group were wonderful to deal with. Never did I feel uncomfortable! Everyone I came in contact with was very personable and made me feel like ?it was all about me?. I did not want him to perform MAGIC - to remove all of the extra skin and fat/weight ? I just wanted to stop the infections and to feel more comfortable. My recovery took a bit longer than planned but I did heal with no infections! Pain management was a bit of a ?pain? because of the gastric by-pass surgery & pills not dissolving fast enough but we got through that. At work I sit at a computer for 10 hours daily & the change has been awesome! I get dressed without having to tuck in the ?extra? skin, I can sit without the additional weight resting on my legs (that used to make my legs numb). He did work MAGIC ? the result was so much better than I had even hoped for! I have a lot more ?excess? skin ? everywhere ? not that it?s in my plans ? but if I were interested in getting it removed someday ? I would go back to Dr. Tijunelis in a heart beat!
