As a newcomer to the area I purchased a home and started getting information on Homeowner's Insurance. I was pleased with the service and quote from this Farmer's office. I took the policy and paid them at closing. After the closing I was told they now wanted railings on my steps and porch. This home was built in 1969 and was not designed for such but, I said OK. they gave me a name of a company. It took the company a few weeks to visit, then give me an estimate of $1800! I had not even moved in yet as I was moving across country. I then get a cancellation notice because I don't have the rails! The agent tried, with no luck, to at least get an extension. This was VERY poor service by Farmer's in my opinion. In the middle of moving, literally unloading a moving truck, I had to go find a new insurance company. Farmer's failed in very regard of customer service. There was no personal communication, calls, willingness to work through this, or anything. I am happy to report my NEW insurance agent not only has my homeowners here but, my two cars, an umbrella and other insurance I needed. I will never use Farmer's again and will warn others away based on my experience!
