I have been going to Takis Sarantos at N K Financial for my personal income taxes since 2006. At first I thought he seemed like a good accountant, knowledgeable and responsive. It wasn't until I was audited by the IRS this year because of a mistake Takis made on my 2009 and 2010 tax return that things turned bad. I guess you really don't know someone until something bad happens! Not only was Takis unresponsive and not willing to take responsibility for his mistakes, he over and over again instructed me to provide documents to the IRS that would not have helped with the situation at all! Had he just done some research and find out exactly what he did wrong he would've been able to advise me to do the right thing and not waste my time. Long story short, I ended up calling the IRS officer myself and the officer spent more time explaining the issue to me that Takis did throughout the entire ordeal. The officer gave me advise on what to do and told me point blank that my accountant has no idea what he is doing! I understand, everyone makes mistakes, and I am ok with it. What I am not ok with is him not doing the right things to correct his mistakes and not taking responsibility for it! I ended up having to back pay thousands of dollars in taxes due to his mistake!!! And guess what, he never even called to tell me he was sorry for ANYTHING!
