Review content:
My daughter and a few of her fellow students from VA Tech recently went to Miami to watch the Hokies play Stanford in the Orange Bowl. They found a hotel with a sales manager who was impressed with the courtesy and maturity of the student calling to make the reservation, but was smart enough to minimize his exposure by simply asking for a little more information. Rather than declining the reservation request, knowing that the room would most definitely rent during the Orange Bowl weekend, Vincent Pla asked for an adult reference to enable him to help the kids out. After a few minutes conversation and my personal endorsement of the kids, their character and their commitment to behave like mature adults, Vincent granted the room reservation. The kids had a wonderful stay (despite the loss to Stanford) and were very pleased with the room, the hotel, the location and access to the train for transportation to and from the Orange Bowl. Their only complaint was that they had to leave so soon! Thanks to Vincent for his willingness to go with his instincts and trust some good kids to act responsibly. In the end, everyone was a winner!
