Review content:
My son (who is very active) started getting numbness in arms and legs. He was 13 at the time. His appetite went drastically down along with energy. Could not attend school. He was bedridden. I took hi to All Childrens Hospital in St. Pete. They had all the specialists look at him. Ran all the tests (MRI , CAT scan, etc... Had a pediatric neurologist look at him. Basically told me he was making it up. I rolled my eyes and kept researching. I knew in my heart he would not make it up. So then I carried him on my back because he could not walk Took a flight to Boston Childrens. Did more expensive testing.Nothing turned out. So we found our family friend who is a MD. He prescribed 6 prescriptions. $600 later we went home. I was talking to Dr. Van and he said fly to me and I will figure it out. Within one visit figured it out. The only test that was not given was a stool sample. We flew it to a lab in Washington and they found 2 rare parasites. We got on the medicine and treated them. Within days my son was better, active again, eating, running, playing, and going to school. Dr. Van was the only Dr. That found the cause of the sickness and pursued it with us. He cured my son and I am so appreciative of his efforts. My only wish is that I would have started with him and saved all the $ I spent with the drs and tests and prescriptions. Thanks Dr. Van - We Love you!
