Review content:
I have been a customer twice before but the third time wasn't a charm. I went to Accent on Eyewear for glasses because they have supplied me with Zeiss lenses before and I prefer them to Varilux.
I had a series of meetings coming up and they promised me new glasses in less than a week and a half. When two weeks had gone by I called and they said it would be another few days to a week. At first they denied anything was wrong but I found out they had come in without the coating I had ordered and had to be sent back.
A week later I got the glasses, put them on and couldn't see at all. Did Eva, the owner, say let me check to see if the prescription is right? No, she told me, ""Your eyes have to get used to them, put them away and put them on in the morning when your eyes are rested."" That was a new one on me but I tried it and it still was so bad I had to wear other glasses to go to my eye doctor to have the prescription checked.
My optometrist looked bewildered when he came back from checking the glasses. He said one of the lenses was supposed to be a .7 correction and it was 1.7 -- more than twice what it was supposed to be. I forgot what he said about the other lens. He said ""Didn't they check that the lenses were correct?""
Went back to Accent on Eyewear and Eva pretended not to be embarrassed -- or was this nothing unusual? She told me I would have new glasses in a week.
When I called a week and a half later I was told that Eva would call me back. Eva called back and said it would be another 3 or 4 days. She denied anything was wrong and that it was just taking longer than usual. I didn't believe her and, after being pressed several times, she had to admit that they came in one more time wrong. By then my confidence in Accent on Eyewear's veracity and their competence was completely shot. Well 5th time was the charm - I could see!
I don't know who got them wrong 4 times, Accent on Eyewear or their Zeiss vendor, but I won't be a customer again. I won't buy from people that don't provide a reliable service and, if and when things go wrong, try to cover it up.
