Review content:
The first time I went in, I felt uncomfortable due to the atmosphere in the waiting room. It was old and unclean. The receptionist was busy texting and not taking my info or even really bothering to greet me.
When I finally saw the Doctor (an hour after my SCHEDULED appointment) he had terrible bedside manner and said he did not have time to discuss my problem in great length. He mentioned some moles on my back looked cancerous, but did not have time to discuss a potentially life threatening disease?!
He ordered blood to be drawn. Almost every office I have been to has drawn blood privately and in the same room I was consulted in. Here they shuffle you into what looks like a smaller, dirtier lobby where I was shoehorned into a chair, shoulder to shoulder with the person next to me. They drew my blood in this room full of people. This is very unprofessional.
After I had gotten results back on the test and they saw something didn't like. So I was asked to set another appointment to discuss the results. When I arrived and went through the cattle moving process at their Royal Oak office, the doctor came in to see me. He had no idea why I was there and I had to remind him it was to discuss the results of the blood work. Doesn't he have a chart?
At the heart of my problem with this facility is that I tried to make an appointment today to see them for a referral. They wouldn't see me unless I pay half of my balance which I have been making payments on that I really cannot afford. Not only that when, I called to make the appointment, instead of telling me anything, they transferred me to billing. My condition is pretty serious and needs a doctor to make it better, but demanding half the balance I cannot afford before seeing me proves that this is not a place of compassion or help. Simply a place that is only concerned about the bottom line. My advice, do not use this doctor as any sort of convenience to you. Use it only if there is a not a doctor within driving distance to attend to you in the time you need it. If you have this office on your HMO or PPO and have not seen them yet, switch before you need an office with a competent staff and doctor.
