Review content:
I work nights, sometimes start at 6 p.m. in Raritan Center nearby this restaurant and I've noticed it's been closed when I pass, so I don't know if they're no longer open for dinner until 9 p.m., or if that's on certain nights, or what. Bottom line, great breakfast food at a fair price, and they serve grits if you want them instead of homefries (something not generally seen in these parts). We tried lunch there once, it was fair. We tried dinner, friends meatloaf was seasoned with cinnamon (which he didn't like and neither would I), my chicken scampi was excellent (the chicken itself that is), but the mashed potatoes were cold. The one server (who operates the register as well) is excellent, she'll bend over backwards and flip over to give you the best service possible; the others, uhhhh, seem as though they could care less. On our dinner trip I mentioned we weren't even offered something to drink upon being seated, she just took her own sweet time. They have a nice extensive menu, not all light fare (greek restaurant type, offers a lot of different choices), and the food is basically pretty good (and like I mentioned, they rule with breakfast), coffee's good too, Lacas brand, and they brew it well. But I'm still not sure of the dinner hours anymore, or even if the place is still open at all, It'd be a shame considering their breakfast is very good. As I mentioned, I've passed by there around 5:45 p.m. and it's been closed, but I don't see any notices on the windows, so there's a chance it's still open, but maybe only for breakfast and lunch. Check it out, I think it's worth the trip. Food's good, service is so-so. Also, I should mention, if they are open after dark you'll notice the lighting is very stark bright, almost piercing; it's a cozy place, but that lighting is like eating in a high-school cafeteria, so it's much more comfortable when the sun is up.
Pros: Good food
Cons: Service isn't the best and at night the lighting is too stark bright.
