Businiess name:  Casbah Cafe

Review content:
I used to stop in to Casbah on my way to work downtown and would generally grimace at the high cost of merely a shot of espresso, but do to the fact that I like to support local business as opposed to other commercial coffee companies, I would stop here instead. I stopped in today off the beaten path and got three shots of espresso over ice and they charged me $.50 for ice, not to mention the $4.00 for just the espresso and the fact that I brought my own mug (as I always do to cut down on the waste that is caused by the daily use of coffee cups) and was NOT given the $.10 back I know it costs any company to buy coffee cups. I have traveled all over the world and have never spent more than the equivalent of $3.00 on even four shots of espresso, even on high quality beans...which leaves me feeling a little perplexed and dismayed. If I knew that they were purchasing shade grown fair trade beans, maybe I wouldn't feel so confused...but alas...I will sit and sip my bitter $4.50 espresso in my own mug with what must be really great frozen water. Thanks Casbah...I'll be sure to take my business elsewhere. Situations like these make it hard for those of us trying to be responsible consumers to justify not going to Starbucks. Pros: Food is generally good. Cons: Prices are unjustifiable for the type if place it is.
