Review content:
I recently took my 7 year old black lab to the Dog Resort for a week's stay while my husband was recovering from emergency surgery. We have taken her there several times while we travelled and have always been happy with the care and attention she got so I knew she would be in good hands. However, this visit turned out to be an extraordinary example of the love and care she received. She got sick while there and required a visit to the vet and rehydration, among other things. Mona, the owner, treated her like her own dog. After spending a night at the vet, Mona made sure that Lucy stayed with her - in her home! - while she continued to recover while also giving her the meds and food the vet provided. We had long check-in conversations every day - and it was such a relief to know that my doggie was being cared for in the same way she would be cared for at home, especially given the circumstances that lead to her being there in the first place. I cannot say enough about the true love for animals that shines through Mona - it is a culture she has established with everyone at The Dog Resort. Also - this is a place where dogs PLAY and run and are not crated except at night. Little dogs, crabby dogs, old dogs - all are kept safe and sound and get the attention they need while the rest of the doggie population runs around and plays all day. They put out pools in the summer and do everything they can to make life for these dogs interesting and fun. I have always loved how dogs were treated at The Dog Resort in the past - but I have a new appreciation for the exceptional care and commitment that they exhibit. I am so lucky that she was in such an amazing place. Thank you, Mona - you are the best!
