Review content:
While this establishment appeared to be very busy and lively on a recent Saturday night visit, my experience was very unpleasant. We were treated very rudely by the hostess/owner. We were questioned (Gestapo-like) about our intentions as we entered the restaurant and inquired about the availability of a table. We were asked to wait (we asumed until a table became available) and stood in our coats as we ordered glasses of wine. As tables became available, they were given to other patrons (who were not eating or drinking anything!) After about a 1/2 hour, a table became available right behind us and we helped ourselves to it as the hostess seemed none-too-concerned with our status. This caught her attention. We were immediately chastised!! (Can you believe it?!) We then had to flag someone down to order more drinks and dessert. We ended up spending in excess of $60 - which was more than any one of the previously seated groups were spending. We were treated rudely the rest of the evening by the hostess. This place clearly caters to it's regulars for whatever reason and isn't really interested in new, stylishly dressed and ready-to-spend-money types of customers. The pie was good. I hear the food is alright, but I won't be going back. It's a shame that a community as lovely as Highland Park would tolerate such an unfriendly and unaccommodating place of business. Pros: Okay Pie Cons: Unfriendly Service
