Review content:
I was referred to La Jolla Endodontics by my normal dentist when he thought I might need to get a root canal. Having never had more than a filling, I was very nervous when I showed up for my first appointment. The staff, however, were very friendly and made me feel comfortable even though I was very scared. The doctor did a few tests (cold..ouch!) to see if I indeed need a root canal, and finished up with some xrays. He was able to pull up the xrays on the computer after and actually show me why a root canal would be right for me. After answering my questions about the treatment and other options, I decided to go ahead and do it. He was actually able to start the procedure right away, and gave me some medication for the pain and infection. I had to go back about a week later to finish, but having already been there once I was much more at ease and was actually able to take a nap. Overall, it definitely helped me to realize that root canals sound a lot scarier than they actually are, and even though I will hopefully never need another one, I know where to go if I do.
