My wife was a patient at this clinic for years.Around 2005 she started losing weight & having stomach & bowell problems-over the next 2 years she went from 135# to 97#-Dr Makouf said she had irritable bowel syndrome & was treating her for that.She went to the St. Jo emergency room on 8/17/2007 ( friday evening) with bad pain in her abdomen & back-the ER doctor said she had either gastroentritis or the stomach flu. He shot her up with morphine & told her to see her doctor on monday. My wife died on 8/19/2007 from colon cancer. It was so bad that it had pierced her colon & she died from internal hemoraging. I find the doctor at La Amistad at fault for not checking her for colon cancer & the ER doctor for not admitting her to find out what was causing her so much pain that night.Acording to several attorneys I contacted they cannot be found at fault by a court because they did not do anything completely negligent.I say BS.. If you are going to this clinic or hospital---BEWARE---they do the least that they are required to do.
