Visit: 1/4/08. I walked in and stood for a minute at the doorway/cashier station. There were 2 or 3 waitresses walking about, 2 cooks at the grill, and the manager watching. There was a News Crew doing a live broadcast, but the diner was only about 30% full and not what I would consider busy at all. I decided to sit at the front counter when nobody greeted me at the door. I sat in the middle of the counter on a stool right in front of the cooks. I waited. I picked up a menu and decided on my breakfast. I closed the menu and folded my hands over it. I sat for 5 minutes there, without so much as a, ""I'll be right with you, sir"" or anything. A man walked in and sat down 2 stools away. A waitress apeared within 2 seconds and asked him if he wanted coffee. I gasped in disbelief. This got the attention of one of the cooks and I said, ""I have been waiting for 5 minutes here"". The man who sat down said, ""I'm sorry"". I told him, ""It's okay, It's not your fault"". The cook told the waitress to bring 2 coffees. She gave one to the man and asked the cook who the other one was for. I FELT LIKE I WAS INVISIBLE!! He told her it was for me and informed her that I had been there first. She took my order. My breakfast was given to me by the cook, which was fine, but there was no syrup or butter on the counter. I had to get up and get it from another table because the waitress was nowhere to be found. When I went to pay, the waitress asked me who my server was. She looked at the slip and said, ""oh, it was me!"" Then she said, ""it must be the hat you have on"". I wanted to say that it was the same hat I had on when she ignored me when I first came in. I didn't want to be rude, but I could not with a clear conscious leave a tip other than the 10 cents that was my change. Ps, the food was okay, but not great, and the cook at least said that he was sorry for the wait. The wait is something I can understand, but being ignored is not. Pros: Great decorations, Aviation motif, retro feel. Food pretty good. Cons: I felt like I was invisible.
