Review content:
I contacted Chicago Apartment Finders figuring that with a long list of requirements and a short time to find an apartment, it might be a good idea to get some extra help finding a place. I thought someone would sit me down, ask me some questions, then drive me around a few places I'd likely already heard about, and that's it. Instead, what I got was Paul Backer. From the get-go, Paul was attentive to my specific requests--looking for a studio or a 1 br for under 1200 in the West Loop was already a bit of a stretch (to say the least), and I had already done some looking of my own. Instead of saying ""umm, those criteria are crazy"" or ""well, you hit up the best places"", he went through and came up with a long list of potentials--including some long shots--and had appointments set up within minutes! What I thought would be a day of disappointments turned into a day of seeing EXACTLY the type of places I had in mind (he even picked up on the things I didn't like without me saying them, e.g. preferring Eastern exposures) and with each interaction, I could sense he was working hard to not just fill a space, but actually match me with the best fit for ME. It sounds cheesy, but it's true: he actually cared, and the time, energy, and attention he paid to ensuring that I found the perfect place was incredible. We evaluated pros and cons, debated the best options (he was an invaluable sounding board) and his expertise and advice ultimately led to my finding a DREAM APARTMENT that I would NEVER have thought to look for or find, fitting all my requirements, within a couple of hours (okay, it took about five). SO long story short, Paul not only saved me time, money, and energy, but actually made what would've been a tedious, grueling day a pleasant, focused, and very fulfilling one. A big thank you to you, Paul, and everyone at Chicago Apartment Finders for providing a service I will never hesitate to recommend.
