Review content:
I reluctantly went to Nantucket for a birthday dinner. Seeing my friends was great but the rest of the experience was terrible. The highlight of the evening was the free bread they give you when you first sit down.... Period. But first off, when driving to this place late in the evening, I noticed how creepy and scary of a location it was situated in. I do realize it's a seafood restaurant and it is convenient that It is located right on the bay but driving in, I felt more like I was entering one of those scenes from a slasher movie. There is a minimal amount of lighting in the unpaved parking lot. You have to dodge mud puddles before crossing the scary train tracks and there is a strange pungent smell evading the building before you enter. The hostess at the door didn't look very happy with life and didn't give a nice jovial greeting as would be nice. Once we were seated, the server did approach promptly to take our drink orders and to bring the free bread, which as I mentioned earlier, was the best thing they had. I also decided to order a cocktail called the Kimmi drink, which I do highly recommend because it was quite tasty. When it came to dinner though, I decided to stick with the soup-salad combo since it was honestly the cheapest thing on the menu at $9.50. I had heard that there clam chowder was good but was not surprisingly, let down. This is due to the fact that it was about 80% clam chowder, 20% sand. I had never had such gritty clam chowder in my life and didn't even finish a 1/3 of it. Previous to this, they brought the salad which was even worse and the thing is..how can you screw up a salad? how? someow they succeeded in doing this exact thing. It was basically Italian dressing with a little bit of lettuce. I felt like my lettuce was swimming in the dressing. I could have had a better meal at Long John silver's and for 10 times cheaper.... never again...never again...
Pros: free bread in the beginning
Cons: bad food, bad value
