Review content:
If you ever need work done on your boat, all I can say is that you would be better off doing the work yourself - even if you don't own a wrench! The complete lack of knowledge by their techs is only the start of the problem. The service manager, Mike, will tell you every lie in the book. This affords him the opportunity to keep your boat at their service department while he (probably) calls a REAL service dealer to ask how to fix it. Speaking of Mike, if you want the status of your boat, he will have no idea. He will ""...need to call you back."" Interesting that the service manager has no idea on the status of a boat (one of only 3 they were working on). Back to their lack of knowledge. They THOUGHT a shift problem was a throttle cable. In order to get a new cable they needed to get one from Ft.Lauderdale. This was going to take an additional 2 days. Since their are 13 authorized Mercury dealers and 6 west marines in the St.Petersburg area I demanded to know why they couldn't get one locally that day. Long story - short, I drove to a dealer within 10 mins drive time and bought the cable for them AND returned within 1.5 hours of them closing. I was told that if I could locate a cable and return within an hour of them closing that they could simply install it. They called me an hour before closing to tell me that they couldn't do it and that the boat would be worked on first thing in the morning. The boat was not ready even by 6pm the next day. I call the brainless service manager (Mike) at 5pm. He needed to call me back at 6pm to get a status on the boat. I recieved no call. One last thing - CHECK THE BETER BUSINES BUREAU (mispelled on purpose due to this site) ON THIS BUSINESS! Here's the link -
