Review content:
My truck was at their shop for a total of FIVE business days for a 1 hour diagnosis and a ""2 hour"" job for a transmission sensor.
They lied about the price. They told me my total bill would be $405 and when I went to pay they made me pay $470. They said an extra part was needed and thought they should just keep buying parts and installing them till it was fixed properly. It would have been NICE to let me know let alone get my approval!
I took my truck directly home and parked it in the street on a small hill. As I got out of my truck it started rolling away! I had to park my truck on flat ground so I could look underneath to see what the problems was. They broke my shifter cable and clamped it back together with some metal tubbing and hose clamps. It would not shift into park. I was able to ""stuff"" the cable back together and get it into park. I could not call because they were closed. So I took several pictures and took it back the next morning.
The owner Russ assured me that they did not break it and attempt to put clamps on it to try to make it work. Then some guy Jeff came right out and said that some other shop did it and that he personally had seen it come in that way. LIARS!
I took it back to the other shop and showed them my truck and the pictures. They could not believe that Licata's lied and said they did it. Russ and Jeff were calling me on my cell phone to tell me that their tech did break it and they were going to replace it for free while I was standing with the owner of the other shop. He said he will never refer any overflow work to them again.
DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE FOOLS! They will lie to your face, tell you that you don't know what you are talking about, blame other shops, then have the BALLS to over bill you by almost 20%!
I have many pictures, I have the original receipt for the $470, and I have the receipt for the ""No Charge"" shifter cable that they broke.
This is not an opinion, this is a fact! STAY AWAY FROM LICATA""S! This is not so much a complaint than it is a WARNING! Shops looking to send their overflow work to another shop should NOT send it to Licata's. They will just throw you under the Licata Bus!
