Review content:
After residing in Boston for 15 years and spending time at "real" music spots in Cambridge, it's sometimes hard to try new music halls. However, I have to say, Tupelo is right up there with the best of the Boston music clubs. They have a beautiful concert area first of all. It's in a huge Victorian home in the middle of nowhere out in Derry, NH. The home has an extension built out of the rear and that is where the music hall is. The first floor of the house appears to be a gift shop, although it was closed when we went since we saw an evening performance. When you walk into the music hall, it's not what you'd expect. From the exterior, this music hall looks like an average home. Once inside, the hall has cathedrel ceilings, a huge stage, tons of round tables, beautiful woodwork, small snack station, and great acoustics - the sound is amazing. It's large enough to not lose your hearing, but small enough to remain quaint and intimate. Once the performance begun, they dimmed the lights and had candles burning on every table, which made it so relaxing and very romantic. It's just this beautiful big Ski Resort of a room and so beautiful you won't believe it's the house you just walked into. I will go back to Tupelo again and again. My husband and I loved it.
