Review content:
Saxon Engineering saved the lives of my family. When we purchased our first home, Saxon was asked to come out and look at a flaw in the slab. While there, the owner, Kurt Saxon, noticed some structural irregularities and asked to see the rest of the house (3 stories). My contractor and I took him through it. While in the kitchen and familyroom area, Mr Saxon asked me to step outside and wait in the front yard for him. I was surprised by this request and said that anything he was going to say to my contractor he should say to me. He said that he would, but that he did not think the room was safe and he wanted me to wait in the front yard, especially since I was holding a newborn baby. When he came outside to talk with me, he explained that a bearing wall had been removed and replaced with a substandard wood beam. That beam already had a large stress break in it and would collapse at some point. Since the beam was holding not only the 2 bedrooms above it, but most of the roof line, he wanted me out of harms way. He felt that if the beam cracked while we were standing there, he and the contractor would be able to make it to safety, but that I would not be able to get out in time with a newborn baby on my shoulder. Pros: Detailed, thorough, and experienced
