If you are considering having your Dobermans ears cropped by Dr. Higgins - Don't! I now know why they offer no pictures of ears done previously. My dogs ears were uneven. He would not post them after the surgery. He claims he won't because of the possibility of infection. The fact is he does not know how to properly post the ears. Done correctly, with surgical paste, tape and a paper cup, the stitches are left open to heal. Luckily I found a breeder in Cashmere, WA that did this for me (an additional $200). The other thing that ticks me off is he said he wouldn't of posted the ears until two weeks after the surgery. Well, I called a lot of people and they ALL said if you wait that long the ears will curl. So, he has no pictures of ears he has done in the past, he cuts the ears uneven and he does not post the ears till it is to late. This was a costly $650 mistake. And Dr was not willing to reimburse any of the cost. He is definitely not a show quality doberman ear cropping doctor.
