Review content:
My husband and I are a walking distance away from this HEB. I feel lucky for it because I have been to other locations since I moved here and they sometimes charge a bit more for the same items. I've also tried other stores but I almost always wind up coming back to get my items at HEB. The store is always clean and the employees are nice. They almost always have a good variety of items I like at a good price. I also like the coupons they print out themselves; it saves me from having to buy a newspaper for the coupons even though I do that sometimes too. Every little bit helps in saving money.
I thought I'd right this nice review about them after a horrible news article I just read about a Safeway in Honolulu. A couple who were new to that area were arrested and their toddler taken into state custody over a couple of sandwiches they ate while shopping. They paid over $50 for groceries but forgot to have the sandwich wraps scanned and the store called the cops on them, even though they had apologized and offered to pay the $5 for the two sandwiches. True story. What ever happend to common sense and letting punishments fit the crime?
I am glad this HEB is very understanding about me and my small child. I had started taking it for granted until I saw that article. I have to try to keep her happy when I shop and I appreciate their patience with me. One way is to just let her snack on things while I shop and I always take empty boxes and empty wrappers for them to scan. They NEVER give me a difficult time about it. Sometimes I even present to them a partially eaten donut she ate from the bakery and they never have a problem with it.
