Having shopped at Richards for over 21 years on 9/5/11 my wife and daughter went there for our weekly shopping and as a member of Open Carry of Missouri I carried my weapon in a holster which is perfectly legal in Independence. I have done this on many occasions and have even talked to the policeman who is a guard there on occasion without any problem. A man comes up and tells me the gun on my hip is not welcome in the store. He said it was fine if we were to shop somewhere else. On the way out we noticed there was no sign anywhere stating weapons were not allowed by law in Missouri. I guess a law abiding citizen isn't welcome in there store but a robber who will ignore the sign is welcome. I refuse to shop at any store that restricts my constitutional right to defend my wife and children. As a Vietnam Veteran I'm totally insulted in there rude behavior and having been a loyal customer for over 21 years. Buy Sunfresh and good riddence.
