Review content:
After years of travelling to Duluth, it was a case of the wait was NOT worth it! This was one of the poorest meals I have experienced. The salmon appetizer seemed old - the edges were browning and the texture of the salmon was not firm. The 'shaved ham and bleu cheese rigatonni' I ordered was little more than a mac-n-cheese dinner. The tri-tip entree ordered by my companion was tasteless and a medium order came back well-done and extremely overcooked. The cut was tough and chewy. Knowing the cut of this meat outside of this restaurant, I expected a more succulent piece of meat. Frankly, I've have better burgers from Wendy's. It is a shame this restaurant gets away with the quality of food they exhibited. I would rank the chef no better than a cafeteria linecook. I feel sorry for the visitors to Duluth who get trapped into thinking they will experience something special from this restaurant. I've had much better meals from Chili's and Outback Steakhouse. Do not waste your time nor money. Our lunch at Famous Dave's was head-and-shoulders above what we had at Fitgers. We even brought our dissatisfaction to management - something we've never had to do before. Fitgers managed to Shanghai us for this meal. Once bitten twice shy...and more than a lifetime before we return.
Pros: View of Lake Superior
Cons: Everything else...you could find a better wine selection at a grocery store.
