This is a good, clean, safe community that allows you to become a non-traditional homeowner. It's better than renting, and better than traditional homeownership. It's a lot like a condo, but not quite, because although you are an owner, you don't own your unit, you own part of the entire complex. But, you can make changes and improvements to your unit just like in a condo, and those can improve the value of your home and you can pass those improvements on when you sell. Plus, you have to buy into the complex, and that will cost a few thousands, (but a lot less than a house) and you won't have to pay to take care of the major things, like roofs, heater, air conditioners, etc..And the monthly maintenance cost are LOW. Most people living there have lived there for years like 10 years and more, and its a nice community where you can get to know your neighbors, and build long term relationships. The only thing I didn't like, is the board of directors which make the decisions for the coop, need to make decisions that are more geared towards family, instead of seniors. But, many of them on the board are 60 or older. They need some younger people on there.
