I understand the concerns about the delayed call backs, I have experienced them myself.... HOWEVER, this clinic is so EXCEPTIONAL in every other way than any clinic I have ever been too! I moved to San Francisco for a period of time and still traveled to San Diego for my check-ups. There's a reason for the loyality... Firstly, it is SO RARE to find a holistic clinic that accepts health insurance. My experience is that holistic clinics from the bay area to Santa Monica charge hundreds of dollars for every visit and they don't take insurance. That's holistic medicine for the wealthy. Not at Dr. Grays clinic.... it's holistic for everyone who walks in and they handle the insurance billing. Yea! Quite honestly, I would much rather have them take insurance then call me back in a timely way. I see them implementing new systems sometimes--its a work in progress. Sometimes its good, sometimes its very slow. But just call a lot, or get in your car if your local and go down there! That's what I do. Secondly, the atmosphere in the Hillcrest office is fantastic. Its the nicest and most trendy medical facility that I have ever been in. They must have had some San Diego designer do the interior--very, very nice and makes you excited to come back. That might be stretching it, but its been a very pleasant experience to feel the Zen tranquility awaiting my appointment. By the way, I have never waited longer than five minutes for my appointment. They are very prompt once you are at the clinic. Thirdly, the doctors and nurses are the nicest, most friendly medical practitioners I have ever met. I grew up hanging out at my dad's huge medical clinic, and it was nothing like this. These woman, besides being hip and beautiful, are very knowledgable, personable and extremely competent. I might sound like an advertisement for this place, but I was shocked to read the other reviews. These people are looking for conventional doctor's offices who process their needs efficiently, but evidently have no appreciation for the rarity of a holistic clinic that takes insurance with amazingly wonderful practitioners. I just hope my review doesn't make it harder to get an appointment. I know they were full around the time I became a new patient in 2006. I slipped in as a referral from one of the massage therapists, but it was not easy. Don't know the situation now. Lastly, every single practitioner I have seen there was soooo good. They are the best! They have zero-ed in on the causes of certain long term health conditions and done so with such competence and elegance. Really, have you ever heard of a health practitioner described as ""elegant"", well they are! Very refreshing! They obviously practice what they preach and are healthy inside and out. And the counter staff is very nice now....I do remember the past ones being a little dull and routine like . The phone system is still a bit slow, but perserverance and patience are a virtue. Maybe thats why they call us patents. Pros: Holistic , Takes Insurance, Very Competent Cons: Slow on call backs sometimes...
