I was a first time car buyer and I definitely feel taken advantage of by these people! If you don't know a lot about buying a car or you don't know a lot about cars in general please don't bother going here no matter how good the deal seems or you will regret it. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! RUN AWAY NOW!
If you still decide to go, make sure to get the vehicle checked by a garage before you buy it.... including an engine and transmission check as well. Make sure you get your warranty in writing- big mistake on my part.
If you care to know how these people do business, this is what happened to me: I saw an ad on Craigslist and came to check out the car. He decided to charge me $500 more than what he listed it for online. Everything seemed to look good and work well on it when I took it for a short drive. The man said it came with a SIX MONTH warranty for the engine and transmission and I believe a 30 day warranty for everything else. Now, I bought the car but we had to put it in my fathers name for insurance purposes. He signed a paper however that said sold AS IS. After I bought it, I took it to the highway to drive home. While merging I felt a slight jerk when the gears switched but I thought it was normal because I haven't driven many cars before. I noticed it was getting a little worse thru time but very manageable to drive so I didn't know it was a problem. I got it checked at Honda 2 months before my ""warranty"" ran out. I was shocked at the results so I took it to another garage to check and make sure Honda wasn't just trying to make money off of me: turns out they weren't and I need the whole transmission replaced which is like $2500. But no worries- I had a warranty... WRONG. We called the guy up and he seemed to work with us while decsribing the details until we actually told him the transmission needed replaced. So pretty much he got all pissed off and yelled at us rudely on the phone that it's our fault the transmission needs replaced since we didn't take it sooner.... so he refused to replace it. However in all realty, it had a problem since the first day so he probably knew about it and either way it would have needed a replacement whether I checked it earlier or not.
I would have taken them to court if they hadn't cheated me out of my warranty. It's just too bad the paper stating ""as is"" voided our oral agreement so I cannot win in court.
