Lived in the area for over 25 yrs & didn?t know about Ria Mar. Always go to Spain Inn in Piscatway/Spain 92 in Bridgewater for excellent Spanish/Portugese food. Got a Ria Mar flyer and thought I?d try it. Internet food reviews were great, but couple of postings about wait times, even with reservation. So, we stop 1 weekend without reservation ... long line ... ok we?ll try again ... I understand. Made a reservation for 8:30PM on Valentines Day. Arrive at 8:10. Line is 20 couples deep. I ask when we?ll be seated ... ?Within 15 minutes of reservation? ... OK no problem. Folks on line with reservations have been waiting 1 hr or more from reservation time. At 8:50, I ask host how much longer. Response is ?If I?m talking to you I can?t be seating people? & he walks away. I wait, and ask if it will be more than 5 more minutes because I don?t want to wait and he responds ?Why don?t you just leave?. I?ve never been to a restaurant that so rudely overbooks nor treats guests so rudely.
