Review content:
I had a great cut from John about two weeks ago. This was my first haircut in the city of Pittsburgh; I just moved here earlier this year. I picked Platinum based on the reviews on this site. Since Platinum didn't have any negative reviews, I figured I'd try it. When I called I told the receptionist (who was very friendly) what kind of hair I have and what kind of cut I wanted (very long hair, wanting it cut to a short bob; also thinking about a body wave) and she suggested John. He's so easy-going, makes you feel very comfortable. He helped me pick the right length for my bob and showed me how to style it. Cut costs $49. The salon has recently moved from its Ellsworth location to Lawrenceville. The new location is a gorgeously renovated building with high ceilings and pretty fixtures. New address: 4731 Butler St. (they have their own parking lot). New phone: 412-682-1600. I would (and will) definitely continue going to John. Pros: Salon gives great, stylish cuts without being snobby
