Review content:
On 12/27/2012 my family and myself went to Sloane of Devon in hopes of buying a new 2012 Toyota Rav4. We had already shopped around and had multiple quotes in hand. Having spoken to the sales associate on the phone previously he had the lowest quote of any of the dealers advertised so we went in with the hopes of purchasing the car the same day. After we discussed the previous quotes i had the sales associate agreed with a price if we would purchase the car right then and there. I agreed to the price, the associate and I shook hands he went to draw up the papers came back and said his manager would not honor the price. He then said he could only do 300$ higher than our agreed upon price. I calmly said i didn't appreciate the way he backed out on our verbal agreement and i thought that was not the way you should do business. I then told him i needed to speak to my dad as the car was for him and i would come back later to sign. I called about 2 hours later asked if we were still okay with our previous deal he agreed and said to come in. I came in he drew up the papers we signed and we agreed to 300$ increased price. My father also left work to come in and sign the papers as we were getting this car for him. After signing the papers the associate took the papers to his manager (Ed Toto). The manger Ed Toto then came out and told my father who had just left work that he would not be able to honor the deal but had to increase price again. This time I was furious and couldn't believe the underhandedness of this dealer. He said that he was going to increase the price because he had another person interested and that he didn't think we had any other dealerships to go to. We argued that the associate had twice agreed to prices and then you withdrew them. After some time he went back and supposedly called the owner at home, who agreed to our original price. By this time we knew better then to buy from someone who would not stand by their own word twice, it wasn't worth the fear of never trusting what else they might try and get away with. Overall I would never ever recommend this dealership to anyone, I've purchased two cars from Toyota previously we have been Toyota family but we are currently rethinking that, due to our dealings at Toyota Sloane of Devon
