I've kept and bred cichlids for over ten years. I have a 100 gallon and a 75 gallon. Great selection, good prices, helpful employees, until you buy. I bought an albino peacock cichlid. Looked good at store but after a day of observing I noticed he was not able to find food when I fed him. He would just swim around trying to suck food in as it fell but was rarely successful. He was unable to navigate through the caves and driftwood and would run into other fish. I paid 50 dollars for the fish and I was afraid he was going to die. He also would not run from the net. I called the store and the guy told me that's ""normal"" cichlid behavior. I told him I was very familiar with cichlids and it was far from normal. He was very rude and said than I obviously don't know what normal behavior is. I told him I would take store credit back for him and when I got there I would show him. He said I would be wasting my time and his by bringing up there. After about a week the other fish started picking at him because he was an easy target. Even my 2"" mangano was picking at him and yes now 2 weeks later he is dead. Bottom line they sold me a sick fish and would not let me return it after just one day and all i wanted was to exchange him. Plus he was VERY rude when I was being very polite. Great selection though. Best I've seen in Dallas.
