My husband and I rented a home from Lynne Cauley Real Estate about 8 years ago. Admittedly, we were naive in the way we handled our interaction with this company...unfortunately (or fortunately) they taught us alot. Our first clue that there was a problem with their business practice should have been that they did not do the initial walk through with us. When we moved in, the house was filthy...the crevices in the white linoleum in the kitchen were filled with dirt, toilets were dirty, etc. I cleaned it and didn't complain (mistake #2). During the 2&1/2 years that we lived there, it was like pulling teeth to get them to come out and fix anything. When we moved out, I had two family members work with me to scour this house from top to bottom. We cleaned EVERYTHING...washed the walls, patched the holes, wiped the cabinets and drawers...you get the picture. The house was cleaner when we moved out than when we moved in! Our 3rd mistake was that we didn't do the walk through when we moved out. When they mailed us our ""deposit"" we got $100 back. They charged us for a cleaning service to come in to clean, maintenance to fix things that we apparently broke, etc. In other words, they ripped us off. When I called to discuss the various charges with them they informed me that when the cleaning crew went in they complained that the drawers in the kitchen were filled with dirt and they had pictures to prove it....A bunch of bull!!! Do not rent from this company, they will rip you off and take your money. If you don't have a choice, make sure you insist on being there for the initial and final walk through and document EVERYTHING...take pictures, take notes, give them a copy of all that you document and keep a copy for yourself.
